La Belle Vieux Quebec

Each time I visit Quebec City I fall in love with this beautiful city, the sights, the sounds, the smells, the people, the european flare.

I was so fortunate last year when I was here for the Symposium to get spectacular indian summer weather, gorgeous sunny days warm breezes and the amazing Queen Elizabeth II was docked here. This time around, the chilly night air demanded a mandatory visit to Simons upon arrival to purchase a scarf and cape (like I needed an excuse). The rain has been on and off for the past 3 days but the it only adds to the charm of carrying around a big pretty umbrella.

Work is tiring but fun when it involves lunching in the spectacular Chateau Frontenac, speed walking from room to room to soak in the presentations by emerging and cutting edge biotech companies. Yet, my favorite part of this particular business trip is having Alex with me. YEAH, it is almost like a little short vacation for him while I am at the symposium but then we get to hang out on the off times. What a romantic city, and sans enfants, it has been like a mini honeymoon.

My senses are heightened here in Quebec City, I breath more, see more, drink more and feel more - I love it!!!
