Raindrops keep falling on my head

The sound of raindrops is so calming when you are not in a rush to get somewhere...I managed to take a break from the symposium and go for a walk with Alex in the romantic city. The hotel provided us with a fabulous huge umbrella for 2 that made the damp stroll an enjoyable experience, minus the cold wet feet. Note to self, to always bring along waterproof shoes, dress shoes with heels are not rainy walking material.

When we were flying in to Quebec City the fall colours were gorgeous from the airplane window. The hues of green, yellow, orange and red of the trees were so pretty that I was expecting to see the same colours in the city, however it is mostly in the countryisde that the leaves have changed, here they are just starting...It makes each tree that is just about to commence its fall foliage seem like a jewel amongst the others. The crisp leaves are gorgeous with the glistening raindrops falling on them.

The beauty of going for a walk in the rain, is that you are not surrounded by as many tourists, unless they are determined as we were. It is a great opportunity to watch just the locals go about, and how they seem fully prepared for the weather, with proper footware, attire and the attitude to match. The tourists stand out with the large plastic ponchos and dripping noses. We were trying very hard not to look like that, but impossible to achieve when you have a camera in your hand and take photos every 60 seconds of everything from cannons to cats that are roaming the streets.

I feel as though I am in Europe again, the mood is light, time is spent not wasted, the views are spectacular....and the red wine makes everything divine!
